This style is generally referred to as ‘Weissenborn’, but these are based on a Kona guitar of C1920 which I repaired some years ago. It had a superior tone with none of the structural problems associated with most guitars of the genre, many of which I have observed to have deformed beyond functionality.
Two of these can be heard on Van Morrisons ‘Pay the Devil’ album, played by Paul Godden.
