Tim O’Brien
Tim O’Brien commissioned this A type mandolin about 10 years ago, I believe he’d played one I made for someone else. Unusual to hear one tuned in octaves, works well on this.
Here’s a very interesting little video from The Real John Lewis and Imelda May using a Davidson “Stella” 12 string guitar in Ash, maple and spruce.
Here’s the amazing Percy Copley with his Davidson Ukulele in maple, spruce, cherry and some bits of a boxwood hedge.
Rex Preston – Mandolin and bouzouki
Two of my favourite people doing what they do best, Miranda and Rex’s singing and playing are among the sweetest sounds I have ever heard. Mandolin and bouzouki built by me. Tone, timing and taste by them. The CD is available from www.sykespreston.com
Jason is playing a Davidson Dreadnought guitar in this song.
Tom is playing his Davidson mandolin and tenor banjo.
An exercise in tone, timing and taste with the lovely Charlotte Carrivick, on my latest F5 mandolin.
Dave Griffiths with his Davidson Brazilian-style mandolin
Here’s John Breese (Charlottes other half) doing some wonderful things with his Davidson banjo.
